Bay Park is a great place to live, work, and play. It overlooks beautiful Mission Bay and offers a bird’s eye view of both Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean from the high vistas on its hilltops.
While virtually everyone has seen Bay Park as they speed by on the Interstate-5 Freeway, few know much about it. Those who live here say it’s a San Diego treasure because it possesses all of the amenities city dwellers crave including great restaurants and essential shopping destinations, and best of all, no crowds. It’s one of those great discoveries, within a city of over a million people, still under most city dwellers’ radar.
As for Bay Park’s ambience, it’s as local as San Diego gets. Plus, many of the businesses are owned by residents who live in Bay Park. So the mood and tone of Bay Park has a local welcoming feeling and the businesses beam with a pride of ownership.
With easy coastal I-5 freeway access and three Coaster/Trolley stops along Morena Blvd., access to Bay Park is excellent. And the San Diego Trolley which goes as far north as Oceanside and as far south as the Tijuana uses the same trolley stops. So, theoretically, you could commute to and from work via the trilley system, but locals love driving their car.
Yes, there is a lot to see and do in Bay Park. A little confusing at first is both main streets have the same name. They are Morena Boulevard and West Morena Boulevard, (see map) which both travel in a north south direction. Down these main streets expect to find many restaurants, lively bars and on the side streets you’ll find a world-class microbrewery (Coronado Brewery) with a lively beer tasting lounge and outdoor patio.
